Alan Gordon discusses what sports athletes can do to get mortgage approval.
Listen to the interview on the Business Innovators Radio Network:
Alan explained that: “It can be difficult for some sports athletes to obtain mortgage approval. This is because their income may be considered irregular, or they may have a large amount of debt. However, there are some things that sports athletes can do to improve their chances of mortgage approval.”
First, it is important to have a good credit score. This will show lenders that athletes are responsible with money and are more likely to make their mortgage payments on time. They can get a free copy of their credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus once per year. Be sure to check for any errors and dispute them if necessary.
Second, it is helpful to have a large down payment saved up. This will show lenders that athletes are financially stable and have the ability to make a down payment on their homes.
Third, it is a good idea to provide documentation of their income. This can include pay stubs, tax returns, and bank statements. This will help show lenders that they have a steady income and can afford to make their mortgage payments.
Gordon concluded, “I believe that home ownership is within everyone’s reach – you just have to have the courage to get in the game!”
