Congressman Doug Lamborn and staff show support for Health Care Sharing Ministries with a visit to Medi-Share

Congressman Doug Lamborn made a visit to Medi-Share’s Colorado Springs location to receive an update on the current state of health care sharing ministries throughout the United States. Medi-Share, America’s leading healthcare sharing ministry, was thrilled to provide Congressmen Lamborn and his staff with insights into the work being done to support over 400,000 members and process $1 billion dollars in medical bills and discounts, last year alone, across the country. The congressman and his team toured the facility and met ministry leaders, including CEO Scott Reddig, VP of Communications and Government Affairs Evelio Silvera, and Director of Process Improvement David O’Riordan. The congressman was joined by his Senior Advisor, Jeff Anderson and District Director, Norm Steen.

“It was really great to welcome Congressman Lamborn and his staff to our site and share the passion we have for what we do each day in connecting people to a Christ centered community. We have 146 employees in our Colorado location and we love to hear stories of how Medi-Share impacts our community. It was also wonderful to hear how one of our visitor’s family was once helped by Medi-Share in a time of need,” said Director of Process Improvement, David O’Riordan.

Congressman Doug Lamborn also has experience with health care sharing and met leaders of Medi-Share at a recent community roundtable for 501(c)3 organizations in the area. Medi-Share extended the invitation for the on-site visit to help elected officials increase their understanding of how Medi-Share works for the more than 400,000 members who currently participate in the program.

“It was a pleasure meeting with Congressmen Lamborn and his staff. Healthcare sharing programs like Medi-Share offer a viable alternative to health insurance for people of faith in this country. It is encouraging to know that there are elected officials who support medical cost sharing and other innovative solutions to Americas health care issues,” explained Evelio Silvera, VP of Communications and Government Affairs.
