Executive Support Network and MissionQuest Inc. Host “Working Together: We are CHANGE,” a Free Community Meeting to Discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, in South Los Angeles.
Executive Support Network (ESN) and MissionQuest Inc. announce the upcoming community meeting, “Working Together: We are CHANGE,” which will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Noon, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Center of Hope, located at 9550 Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, CA 90305.
The event aims to discuss diversity, equity, and inclusion in modern society and create a more inclusive environment.
“Today, individuals hold multiple social identities simultaneously, such as race, gender, class, and more,” said Dr. Theresa Lu, speaker at the event.
“Each label comes with a different set of expectations and behavior, and when those expectations do not align with our perceived identity, it can create conflict. The meeting will provide attendees with a better understanding of the labels we assign to ourselves, and how we can create a more inclusive environment and foster change among ourselves and in the community,” she said.
The event is free, and interested participants can register at https://wearechangeDEI-ESN-MQ.eventbrite.com. The meeting will be facilitated by Eddie Mae Williams, Executive Director and Founder of Executive Support Network.
Here are the two DEI presenters from MissionQuest:
- Theresa Lu, Founder and CEO of MissionQuest, is a leader in the field of organizational development and change management. With over 30 years of experience in psychology, she has worked with people from all walks of life, including different ethnic groups and religions, domestic violence survivors, members of the transgender community, and more. Dr. Lu is also the co-author of the books Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion In Action and Total Domination: Millions from Grants.
- Keri N. Brewer, an Associate with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, is skilled at building productive work relationships within varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, both internally and externally.
“We are thrilled to have MissionQuest present in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for this community meeting,” said Eddie Mae Williams.
“In this day and age, just talking about DEI is not enough. I want to make sure our community leaders can walk away with tools and have a better understanding of what DEI means in our daily lives and how it can affect us on the subconscious level.”
